Museum & Institute

Preliminary design by TRafo Mimarlar, Istanbul, Turkey.

A piece of land overlooking the ancient site and the dam waters was allocated by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism for the Zeugma Museum in 2006. The building complex should ideally include display and public areas, storage space for excavation finds, conservation labs, and accommodation for excavation team members and researchers. It should be in close relationship with the ancient site that will ultimately be turned into an archaeological park, conceived as an extension of the museum.

The relationship between the three units that constitute the building complex:

Exterior view with the display/public area in front

Interior views of the display area
